Winter Writing Workshop

Program fee includes admission to the Center.
Pizza lunch following the program for additional $8.

Hone your writing skills and find your poet's voice, as you explore the hushed serenity of the northwoods. Join us for "Writing in the Winter Woods" workshop featuring poet and writing instructor DyAnne Korda and International Wolf Center program specialist Tara Johnson.

Meet Your Presenters:

DyAnne Korda DyAnne Korda is a poet and experienced writing instructor. She has been published in many journals including The Wisconsin Academy Review, and is author of Path of Belonging, Between Moon & Creek and Finding the Lost Woman. She was awarded a competitive grant to complete one of her poetry collections through Norcroft: A Writing Retreat for Women in Lutsen, Minnesota. For as long as she can remember she's been passionate about words and the natural world. DyAnne's work echoes her belief that we can learn something when we enter the woods to become a part of the seasons.


Tara Johnson Tara Johnson is the Program Specialist for the International Wolf Center. There she develops and teaches programs for WildKids Day Camp and WolfLink videoconferencing and mentors in the internship program. She has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and minor in studio art, Masters degree in Environmental Education and Natural Science and taught in the classroom with 1st, 2nd and 6th grades. Bookmaking has been a passion of Tara's for many years. Learning about and experiencing the wonder of the outdoors can be expected in all of her programming.


Activity Level: One snowshoe hike through snow over uneven terrain for one mile.
