Two new low cost techniques were developed for the holding and release of wolves into remote areas. Panniers for packing wolves on mules and lightweight, plastic mesh release pens were designed. Release pens with and without interwoven electric wire were utilized. Two Mexican Gray Wolf packs were satisfactorily released in 1999 with these methods.
