July 5, 2002
Summer nights mean campfires, s'mores and good old-fashion storytelling.
Brush up on your tall tales this Monday, July 8, when storyteller
Kevin Strauss entertains the public with his own tales of the northwoods.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at the International Wolf Center and
is free and open to the public.
For Strauss, storytelling is a way to share and explore the natural
world. On Monday night, he will focus on the wolf. Hear about the
"Mountain Wolfıs Gift" and how "Wolf is Outfoxed by Ram" in this
fun-filled night. Strauss will highlight the legends and fables
with animal pelts and bones. Bring the family and your imagination.
Strauss has been a professional storyteller for eleven years. A
CD of his stories, entitled "The Mountain Wolf's Gift," is scheduled
for release this August by Tales of Tails Productions.
This is the fourth presentation in the Nature Nights Speaker Series.
The International Wolf Center, the North American Bear Center, Listening
Point Foundation, and the Dorothy Molter Museum sponsor the series.
Presentations begin at 7 p.m. every Monday night at the International
Wolf Center Auditorium, just east of Ely, Minnesota on Hwy. 169.
