Have you ever wished your canoe trip could extend indefinitely? Dorothy Molter's trip did, extending over 45 years as she lived and worked on Knife Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCAW). Steven Molter, nephew of the famed "Root Beer Lady," will narrate a slide show of Dorothy's life on Monday, July 21, at 7 p.m. at the Vermilion Community College Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Using Dorothy's own private slide collection, Molter will give the audience a glimpse of Dorothy's life - the last person to live year-round in the BWCAW. Steven Molter spent six years working with his aunt at her wilderness cabin. This is one of the few times he has spoken publicly about his aunt and their time together. Guaranteed to be a memorable night, come learn about Dorothy Molter from someone who knew and loved her best.
This is the third week in the Nature Nights Speaker Series sponsored by the International Wolf Center, North American Bear Center, Listening Point Foundation, Dorothy Molter Museum, Vermilion Community College, U.S. Forest Service and Boundary Waters Wilderness Program in joint partnership with the Boundary Waters Ecology Center. The series begins at 7 p.m. every Monday night at the International Wolf Center, just east of Ely, Minnesota on Hwy. 169. For more information, contact the Center at 218-365-4695, ext. 23.
