Discussion: Bear Bile May Help Victims of Strokes, Parkinson's, & Huntington Disease

August 12, 2003

What does bear bile have to do with treating an acute stroke? Professor of Medicine and Genetics at the University of Minnesota Clifford J. Steer MD will answer this question at the Nature Nights presentation on Monday, August 25 at 7pm. The program will be held at the International Wolf Center and is free and open to the public.

Steer will discuss how bile secreted by bearŐs livers may help those with stroke, ParkinsonŐs, and Huntington disease. While the cell-death inhibitor is not available to the public yet, Steer hopes to begin clinical trials this year. Be one of the first to discover all the details of this natural medicine by attending Nature Nights.

This is the final Nature Nights presentation of the year. Nature Nights is sponsored by the International Wolf Center, North American Bear Center, Listening Point Foundation, Dorothy Molter Museum, Vermilion Community College, USFS and Boundary Waters Wilderness Program all in partnership with the Boundary Waters Ecology Center.
