"We followed the 15-member Slough Creek wolf pack, led by it's Alpha female, on a four-hour journey to roust another pack off a kill site and out of its territory. We weren't watching the Discovery Channel. We were living it." Steve Lokker of Madison, WI will experience this close up world of wolves again as he travels to Yellowstone National Park for a second time with the International Wolf Center February 11 - 16.
While there are wolves in his home state of Wisconsin, it is much easier to spot the wild canines on the open landscape of Yellowstone. Lokker says last year's group was able to observe 57 wild wolves in just five days. An experience that is a far cry from his day-to-day life as Assistant Vice-President for CUNA Mutual in Madison.
If you would like to interview Lokker about his close-up experience with the wolves of Yellowstone, contact Terri Ellman at 763-560-7374 ext 227 or email comasst@wolf.org.
