PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking 2-3 Volunteer Web Consultants. As a member of our team, you would be responsible for assisting with the implementation of innovative approaches to web communication while helping us grow and maintain the presence of the International Wolf Center on the Web.
This is an on call position. Volunteer Programmers/Designers would be responsible for details specific to each project as well as be available for back up when the Web Specialist needs support.
VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include web development and design, including:
- Develop custom web applications using ASP and SQL Server
- Troubleshoot coding errors and improve current coding
- Prepare graphics, video and audio files for web
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required; post high school education and/or college degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least two years experience in designing, developing and troubleshooting ASP/SQL Server-based web sites, as well as Section 508 compliant sites; must be expert in HTML, JavaScript and CSS; must have experience with current web design and management tools; must be fluent on Mac and Windows platforms. Familiarity with Flash, XML and SVG is desirable.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY: Volunteer applicant must code neatly and document all work with comments; must work well in a team environment, as well as independently; must be able to put forth a strong commitment to customer service when working with others both within and without the organization; and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
